El Paso County Fair Expanding to Include Art

El Paso County Fair Expanding Exhibits to Include Children’s Art

El Paso County Fair Association will begin accepting art projects from children 16 and under.

El Paso County and El Paso County Fair Association are expanding the annual County Fair by adding a juried art exhibition for children 16 and under. In an effort to continue building the County Fair offerings, the juried exhibit will provide young artists in the County to present their work in a traditional fair style. Ribbons and rosettes will be awarded in each division. The two categories will be Art (any medium) and Photography (Color and B&W), broken into divisions based on age.

“A county fair provides our residents an occasion to socialize and enjoy our beautiful El Paso community, while area youth work toward earning scholarships.” says Betsy Keller, El Paso County Administrator and County Fair enthusiast “Just as importantly, it is an opportunity to teach and give participants and guests a better understanding how animals are raised and how their food is really produced.  There is something for everyone to learn and enjoy!”

The work will be on display during the El Paso County fair at the El Paso County Coliseum from Wednesday, September 21 through Saturday September 24. The El Paso County Fair will feature expanded programming all around with live music, livestock on display, and an open auction for the public to attend.

All work will be accepted at:

El Paso County Parks & Special Events Office
Ascarate Park
6900 Delta Dr.
915-771-2380

Work will be accepted from 8am-4:30pm September 11 through September 15. For a drop off outside those times, please call to make arrangements.

All work will be returned to the exhibitors upon completion of the fair. Pick-up dates and times will be provided at drop-off.

A full calendar of El Paso County Fair activities and attractions will be released by the El Paso County Fair Association.
