Sportspark Alcohol Policy

Effective immediately, alcohol will no longer be served or sold at the Sportspark, located at 1780 N. Zaragoza. The Sportspark is a complex with 10 fields, batting cages, and state of the art facilities for both regular and tournament ball play. The Sportspark's main objective is to provide a safe and specialized venue for all the participants of the Sportspark's organized youth baseball program. The objectives of the Sportspark contribute to the advancement and more importantly, the enjoyment of organized youth sports in El Paso County.

This decision was made after extensive surveying of the community, and an analysis of calls for emergency services to the location. Working closely with the Alcohol Impact Network, a comprehensive survey of 902 people showed that 61 percent of respondents believed alcohol should not be served at the Sportspark. After considering the information, Commissioners Court voted 4-1 to ban alcohol sales at the Sportspark.

Patrons are not permitted to bring in their own alcohol of any type, or consume alcohol in the parking lot. Bag checks will continue at the gate, conducted by Sportspark staff. A peace officer will be stationed regularly at the Sportspark to assist with compliance and provide a security presence. The aim of the new policy is to provide a safe, family friendly environment that aligns with the Sportspark’s mission.
