The El Paso Marathon: On the Mission Trail organized by the El Paso Marathon Foundation will be showcasing their new route through the missions on February 13th, 2022. Participants will run through the San Elizario Presidio Chapel, and by the Socorro and Ysleta Missions. Runners, volunteers, and onlookers can enjoy these historical sites along this one-of-a- kind route. The bi-national event will help El Paso County boost tourism and economic development in the region.
In addition, the route will also encompass parts of the Paso del Norte Trail, a community driven collaborative effort to develop a 68-mile countywide trail in El Paso County. Lastly, the runners will go through Ascarate Park before ending at the El Paso County Coliseum.
The Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon, TFCU Half Marathon, 5K, and Crave Kids Dash have drawn nearly 4,000 participants in prior years. Registration continues for the 2022 races. El Paso County Officials are encouraging El Pasoans and County employees to participate.
