What is the El Paso County Parks and Recreation Master Plan?
In 2018, the El Paso County Parks and Recreation Department created a staff-led regional park plan. The plan focused on needed improvements within existing parks, but also identified the need for a broader master planning process that considered public recreation needs and preferences based in large part on input received by you and your neighbors. The El Paso County Parks & Recreation Master Plan will create a snapshot of existing conditions by assessing the current parks and recreation system. The public input obtained from public engagement process, combined with findings from the existing conditions analysis and the technical guidance of the consultant, will be used to form recommendations and an action plan. The action plan will contain guidance for County leaders and staff to assist them with growth and development decisions related to park facilities and recreation services.
