The El Paso County Parks & Recreation Department is proud to partner with Eco El Paso to celebrate the 53rd Anniversary of Earth Day and to invite the public to “Earth Day 2023” celebration. The FREE, family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ascarate Park, located at 6900 Delta.
In celebration of Earth Day, Eco El Paso will be donating twenty-five trees to Ascarate Park that will be planted during the event as part of the non-profits’ grant-funded project to plant 500 trees across the County. The event will also include informational booths of a wide array of business, non-profits, artists, and food vendors.
County Parks and Recreation will host a screening of “The Lorax”, recycling activities, an Earth Day Scavenge hunt, arts and crafts, and much more at the Ascarate Park Pavilion. Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket and chairs to enjoy the park. Food trucks will be available to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
