El Paso County Parks & Recreation invites the community to enjoy the 4th of July Fireworks at Ascarate Park, Tuesday, July 4th with activities beginning at 2:00pm. Activities include food trucks, swimming, and of course fireworks! Ascarate Park will have a limited capacity of 2,000 cars to ensure traffic safety of all park visitors. The activities include:
The Ascarate Pool will have two swim sessions from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 .pm to :00pm. The cost for adults is $3 and for youth it is $2. Cash only. Tent rentals are available for each swim session.
Food Trucks will be set up within the park on the east side of the lake in the Special Event area. An assortment of food trucks will be available from 3:00pm to 10:00pm.
Ascarate Golf Course VIP Picnic Party promises a spectacular view of the fireworks with the best seats in the park. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Pro Shop; $35 adults (18+), $10 youth (6-17). The ticket includes dinner from Clasico, a parking pass, door prizes, backyard picnic games and music. Children under the age of five do not need a ticket but a dinner plate will not be included.
A Fireworks Display will take place on the west side of the lake at 9:20 pm, offering optimal viewing for everyone within the park.
Parking will be $5 per vehicle, and no charge for those who walk in the park. Picnic shelters are free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a picnic shelter, fees start at $50 for the day deadline to reserve a shelter is June 26th, for more information call 915-771-2380. All reserved picnic shelters must check-in by 4:00pm on Tuesday, July 4th to avoid forfeiting the rental. No refunds will be given to late check-ins.
El Paso County Parks & Recreation would like to remind the public that NO alcohol or tobacco is permitted inside Ascarate Park. Safety is the top priority; staff and Sheriff’s deputies will be on-site throughout the event for any concerns or assistance required. Park hours for the holiday are 5:30 am to 11:00 pm.
