4th of July at Ascarate Park
El Paso County will host a full day of activities at Ascarate Park
El Paso, TX, June 21, 2018 – El Paso County Parks & Recreation invites the community to join us in Ascarate Park this 4th of July. The day’s activities will include food trucks, live music, and a fireworks display over the lake.
Parking will be $5 per vehicle, and no charge for those who walk in the park. Picnic shelters are free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis, however shelter rentals are available throughout the park. Fees start at $50 for the day and can be reserved by calling 915-771-2380. Park hours for the holiday will be 5:30 am to 10 pm.
The Ascarate Pool will have extended hours for the day with the regular session from 12 pm to 5 pm and evening hours of 6 pm to 9 pm.
Ascarate Golf Course will feature a skills tournament and VIP area for fireworks viewing. The fee to participate in the skills challenge and access the VIP area is $30 per person. The challenge is a fun way to use golf skills and have a chance at winning prizes. The fee includes a meal and live music by Little Mike and the Blue Kings Band.
Within the park on the east side of the lake, live music will begin at 3 pm and run until 9:30 pm prior to the fireworks display. This area will also include an assortment of food trucks. The aerial fireworks display will take place on the west side of the lake at 9:30 pm, offering optimal viewing for everyone within the park. The aerial fireworks display will also be easily seen for many people around the city.
El Paso County Parks & Recreation would like to remind the public that Ascarate Park is an alcohol and tobacco free facility. Safety is the top priority and staff and Sheriff’s deputies will be on-site throughout the event for any concerns or assistance required.
